Mullayanagiri Hills

Mullayana giri is a hill present in Chikmaglur district.This is one of the beautiful place one should witness in their lifetime.
It is completely surrounded by the lush green hills and you could end up touching the clouds once you climb to the top of the hill.
There is a small temple present over the hill.
There would be strong breeze on the top of the hill and you would love to stand against the wind and have nice pictures of yourself.
Trekking is also permitted here and there are roads if you are too lazy to trek where you can take your vehicle to the top of the hill.
The start point for the trekking is Sarpadhari which is around 15kms from Chickmaglur. Buses are available to this point.

Hebbe Falls

Hebbe Falls situated in Western Ghats is one of the scenic beauties.It is located in Chickmaglur district and around 8kms from Kemangundi,a popular place in Chickmaglur.It is completely surrounded by the forest and some coffee plantations. You will have to hire a jeep to reach this place which you can at Kemmangundi  and they normally charge around Rs 800 for to and fro for the falls. The road is very dangerous and only professional drivers who are familiar with these types of roads can take you to the falls.You will enjoy the roller coaster ride to the falls,You can also trek for 8 kms if you wish to to.
Jeeps drop you to  Khoday's estate and you will have to walk for some 20 mins to reach the falls.On the way you need to cross some 2 to 3  streams which for sure you will enjoy.Jeep drivers pick you back and drop you to your starting point later.

How To Reach?

Nearest place is Kemmangundi(10kms). Lots of jeeps are available from here or you can trek to the falls.
It is approxiamately 250kms from Bangalore.

This falls is situated in Coorg and is a treat to watch during the rainy season.People visiting Coorg should never miss it and its around 25kms from Somwarpet.
Private vehicles are encouraged to be taken as there is no public transport available to reach the falls.
Nearest place to the falls is Hanchinalli which is 3kms from the falls.
You need to walk for a km before you can see the magnificent view of the falls from the hill top.
There is a narrow path that leads you to the falls from the top of the hill .




How To Reach

You can travel to Somwarpet which is in Coorg. From there falls is around 25 kms and  there are signboards which you can rely upon for reaching the falls or take help of the locals.

Note 

Falls completely goes dry during the summer.

So here is the place which you don not want to miss if you are visiting Mangalore or Udupi.
It is a beautiful falls situated in western ghats and very popular among trekkers.
People visiting this place need to walk for 2 kms a midst jungle and its really worth it.

How to Reach?
Its better if one travels by private vehicles. You can reach Hebri from Mangalore or Udupi , from there locals will guide you to this falls.

Best Time
Soon after the rainy season or during the rainy season. But falls never goes dry and worth a try even during summer. Beware of leeches during the rains.

Kodachadri

Kodachadri is a mountain peak in western ghats.Surrounded by the dense forest it makes a perfect place for trekkers. Mountain peak can be reached by trekking for 12 kms through the dense forest. To and fro journey to the  peak is around 22 kms by walk. One can also take jeeps if they don want to trek(which is not recommended as the journey to the peak is wonderful).Even if you take a jeep its necessary for you to walk for 2 kms  to reach the peak. At the top of the mountain there is a temple dedicated to Shankracharya. It is also the best place to witness sunset.You can also get to see 2 falls on the way to the peak if you choose to trek and the view of the falls is magnificent.
 Its better to trek for 2 days that is starting in the afternoon and camping on top of the hill that night  and then returning back next day.So the journey would not be tiresome.Camping can be done near the tourist bunglow that is close to the peak You can also choose to trek one side and hire a jeep to get down. There are two separate routes for climbing the peak and to get down.

How to reach?

Kodachadri is situated in Shimoga district.You can reach Kollur by bus and from there , lots of jeeps are available that drops you to the starting point for trekking.Starting point is at the nittur village.

Note

> Make sure you climb down the hill during the daylight so that you can find buses or any trucks thats plying to kollur. Else there is no other way to reach kollur. If you take a driver for a private vehicle make sure you tell him to wait for you near the exit of the hill point where you climb down(starting point and exit points are different) and reach the main road.
There are 3 different exit points to reach the main road. Main road is the road between Kollur and Kodachadri starting point. One that is at the bottom most is the best ,that is the first exit point that you get on the right side while you are travelling from Kollur to Kodachadri. 
>If you want to exit the hills and reach main road you will have to take a different route from the top of the hills.
>And on the way down your trek make sure you take left turn wherever the road divides so that surely you would reach the exit point (shown in the photo below).
